Apply for ACE Problem Solving Sessions

Please read this before you apply to ACE:

  • ACE session(s) are supplementary to lecture course(s). They are not listed in the schedule of classes and will not appear on your portal.
  • Attendance at both ACE sessions each week of the quarter is required.
  • If you cannot attend the entire time the ACE session meets, you cannot participate in the ACE session.

Applications are accepted from:

  • Proposed or declared science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) majors: all majors housed within the Division of Physical and Biological Sciences or Jack Baskin School of Engineering. 
  • Please only apply for ACE Session(s) that match the courses you are enrolled in for the Fall 2019 quarter.
  • You may participate in up to 2 different ACE sessions.
  • EOP STEM students have priority when space is limited. 

For Incoming Frosh and Transfer Students: You will register for courses during summer orientation. Once you have enrolled in fall courses, you can submit your application for ACE Problem Solving Session(s) after July 24th.

The initial review deadline for returning UCSC students is June 24, 2019, 11:59pm.

You can apply for ACE sessions until the application officially closes on October 16, 2019, 11:59pm.

IMPORTANT TIP: Google Forms work best when submitting on a computer. Make sure you’re signed in with only your UCSC email and signed out of all personal gmail accounts.


 What to expect after you apply:

  • After submitting your application, you will receive an email confirmation with a copy of your application submission.
    • NOTE: Please email ace@ucsc.edu if you do not receive this email confirmation.
  • ACE Acceptance emails will be sent out during the month of September, 2019.
  • If you apply after the priority deadline, expect delays when receiving notification of your status for acceptance.
